Q. What will this book do for me that others in the Watchtower
organization do not?
A. This book
is a "spiritual book". It's focus is on our process and our detangling of our divine frustration (our
personal journey). It does not dwell in dogma, arguing over scripture. It does not sell you anything. This
book, I believe, is many of my brothers and sisters' story. If the reader is ready, there is a great opportunity
in store and an invitation for growth and awakening to the truth of God and ourself that's larger than our perception
at present.
Q. How does this
book differ from most stories of personal journey?
A. The book gets the reader thinking with his mind. The book gently encourages the reader to think
with his or her own mind. It is full of tools - mental tools - for the journey ahead. The reader can apply
the same tools today and reap wonderful results. All of us have spiritual tools at our disposal, given to us by our
heavenly father (God). With just a tiny bit of effort on our part, and a spark from the divine, we can take a quantum
leap, witnessing miracle after miracle in our spiritual growth and truer purpose in life.
Q. How does your experience with Alcoholics Anonymous help you in helping other
Jehovah's Witnesses who may want out?
A.
I learned in AA (Alcoholics Anonymous), that God is not partial. He did not have to be called Jehovah or Jesus.
All that was needed was to acknowledge that I needed a power greater than myself (and the help was there)!
To those who knock, it will be opened. And those who seek, they will find. Not only was this help available to
me, but I was a witness to many, many others who received the same help. God loves ALL his children and is
ALWAYS available to them.
Q.
How did you avoid losing faith in God through your ordeal?
A. I'd like to say, "it's easy to throw out the baby with the bath water," when the
God we knew was angry, always ready to commit genocide on the earth. We were never sure if we were safe - never could
do enough - warned and warned again. I use to say to this God, "if you're that angry, kill me now (because
I can't live up to these expectations)"! I began revisiting some scriptures without Watchtower "editing"
and boy was I surprised. Undeniable through the New Testament, Jesus' life and ministry - I learned for myself
- GOD IS LOVE! My favorite stories were the Prodigal Son Story, Mary Magdalene (the love shown her by Jesus).
These stories taught me that no matter where we are on our journeys - on the very top, or in the pits - God is loving
us unconditionally, and is available for us at ALL times. How wonderful this is!
Q. What pitfalls facing those leaving the Watchtower organization do you hope
to help others avoid?
A. The Watchtower
has said numerous bad things about those that are leaving or have left the Organization. One of the things they say
is that those who leave are like a pig returning to it's mire (we've left God and we've gone back to the
devil) etc. Let me say:
1. We don't have to
live up to this negative Watchtower expectation (I call it cursing).
2.
There is life after the Watchtower (a life more fully lived by whole people).
3. There is a God who loves us even more than we love ourselves. Test Him out, call out
to Him right now and start seeing for YOURSELF the miracles revealed in your life.
4. God promises He will give us peace - that our cup and life will overflow with
goodness till there is no more want (today - right now!). Let's not deny ourselves or God.
Let's use the tools of willingness and courage to walk through our fear and uncertainty and propel us through
our denial, so that we can have the life that God always meant for us to have - a life of divine sychronicity where things
flow in divine (godly) order - abundance, joy, peace, lovingness, etc.
